About Us

We're a growing SAAS and independent consulting business based in West Salem, WI, specializing in manufacturing data collection and analysis. Founded by UW La Crosse and UW Madison alumni, we're looking for talented individuals to join our team and help us reach more manufacturers.

The Opportunity

We're seeking a Junior Marketing Specialist to join our team as a contractor. This hands-on role focuses on experimenting with different marketing channels, creating content, and engaging directly with potential customers in the manufacturing sector. Position Details

  • Location: Fully remote with opportunities for in-person meetings if desired
  • Hours: Flexible
  • Duration: Until either party decides to discontinue
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Compensation: Project-based, $5 per project. 
  • Note: Effective hourly rate is very low. This role is designed for junior marketers needing professional experience, not as a sustainable long-term position. As a small tech startup, we currently have limited income.
  • Work Authorization: US-based for direct contracts; willing to work through third-party contract houses for non-US contractors

Core Responsibilities

  • Create and test blog posts, social media content, and landing pages
  • Experiment with different outreach strategies (cold emails, LinkedIn, forums)
  • Engage in discussions with prospects and gather feedback
  • Research target audiences and develop customer personas
  • Track and analyze marketing metrics
  • Write compelling copy for various channels
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and marketing planning
  • A/B test messaging and content approaches

Required Qualifications

  • Strong written communication skills
  • Comfortable engaging in professional conversations
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • Willingness to experiment and learn from failures
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing concepts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with content creation (blogs, social media, newsletters)
  • Familiarity with B2B marketing
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing or industrial sectors
  • Experience with marketing tools (social media platforms, email marketing, analytics)
  • SEO fundamentals
  • Copywriting skills

Selection Process
