Internship Overview

There is no better way to get a jump on your construction career and build a foundation for success than through an estimating or field internship with a reputable, industry-leading firm. Syblon Reid’s internship program provides mentoring and hands-on, real-world experience while you pursue a college degree in construction management or other related fields. Syblon Reid offers paid internships to enthusiastic, self-motivated students interested in learning all aspects of the heavy civil construction industry. Many of our full-time employees started with an internship at Syblon Reid. 

Intern Role
The position will support the Onsite Project Manager and field crews by performing the following duties which will differ according to project needs.

Key Responsibilities
• Ensure safety program, processes, and safety culture is adhered to on projects. 
• Submittal and RFI writing.
• Project scheduling.  
• Tracking and reporting of field production, cost estimates and invoices.
• QC Program documentation.
• Subcontractor management.
• Quantity take-offs and pricing.
• Procure materials.
• Managing field employees.
• Must be available for overnight travel. 

Desired qualifications

Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have strong communication skills and a detail-oriented focus. Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat, Google Earth, and SketchUp is a plus.
