Inside Sales Engineer
The Inside Sales Engineer provides technical inside sales and applications engineering support for KNF pump products. This role acts as a key technical and commercial resource for customers and will include liaising with internal teams including Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Repair, delivering optimized solutions that meet customer application, performance, and commercial requirements.
Compensation: $62,000-75,000 annually based on experience, plus an Incentive Reward Program (bonus) and a comprehensive low-cost benefits package including medical, prescription, vision, dental, 401(k) with company contribution, and paid time off.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound customer inquiries and qualified sales leads related to product selection, application engineering, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Provide technical sales support for our extensive range of diaphragm vacuum pumps
- Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, and application data
- Recommend appropriate pump solutions for new and existing applications
- Prepare sales quotations, pricing proposals, and technical documentation
- Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities through assessment and application review
- Collaborate with inside and field sales teams to transition opportunities from qualification to order
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert for customers across engineering, procurement, quality, service, and management
- Communicate customer requirements internally to Production, Engineering, Quality, Marketing, and Customer Service
- Document customer interactions and opportunity data in CRM systems to support forecasting, market analysis, pricing strategies, and new product development
- Representing KNF at trade shows, industry conferences, and customer meetings
- Travel up to 10%, including occasional domestic and international travel
Required Qualifications
- 0–5+ years of experience in inside sales engineering, technical sales, applications engineering, or technical customer support
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand electro‑mechanical systems
- Ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Effective written and verbal communication, problem‑solving, and customer‑facing skills
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering coursework or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Experience with:
