Social Media Intern - AthFest Educates

Social Media Intern Job Description

~5 hrs a week

Hybrid Role

Evening / Weekend hours occasionally needed

AthFest Educates

AthFest Educates is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to sustain and advance music and arts education for the young people in Athens-Clarke County. In order to fulfill its mission, AthFest Educates produces two annual fundraisers, the AthFest Music & Arts Festival and the AthHalf Half Marathon & 5K. The proceeds from these two events fund the organization’s annual grant-making efforts. 

Description:

The social media intern will be responsible for managing and maintaining the AthFest Educates social media platforms, in collaboration with our Marketing Agency. They would create content for social media platforms, utilizing existing assets and templates, as well as gathering new video and photo assets. They would also maintain engagement on social media platforms by replying to comments and messages and interacting with other channels.

This internship role comes with a stipend, paid in monthly installments of $300, with a $200 bonus at the end of the semester, should all deadlines be met and work found satisfactory.

The ideal candidate would posess:

  • Experience with Fb, Insta, YouTube, and Canva
  • A passion for nonprofits
  • Self-motivation
  • Time-management experience 
  • Ability to commit to 5-10 hours of work per week
  • Access to a computer and camera
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Scope of Work

  1. Facebook/Instagram 
    1. Maintain chatter
  2. Thank you’s for comments, donations
  3. Alert staff to interesting/problematic comments
  4. Interact with other non-profits / agencies and follow
  5. Storytelling series
    1. Interviews with stakeholders on arts education
      1. Promo videos for organization, AthFest, and AthHalf
  6. Coordinate with Executive Director to develop and implement social media calendar
  7. Atttend events, take photos, interview stakeholders to create content.
  8. Create engaging posts, reels, and stories in collaboration with Marketing Agency
  9. YouTube
    1. Post new videos
    2. Develop Playlists
    3. Upload historical video collection
  10. Projects
    1. Develop set of video assets for use across channels and websites
      1. Storytelling series
        1. Interviews with stakeholders on arts education
      2. Promo videos for organization, AthFest, and AthHalf
