Summer Grounds and Facilities Intern

The summer grounds and facilities intern will be involved in various tasks that will assist Fargo Area Sports during the summer season. Interns will focus on turf management and the upkeep of our fields. They will also help with tournament and league tasks. The intern will provide customer service and oversee tournament preparation, grounds, concessions, and other duties as assigned. This is a paid internship with up to 30-40 hours of work per week. 

 

Start/Completion Date: May 1st – August 1st 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Specific duties include, but may not be limited to: 

• Maintaining playing surfaces 

• Perform manual labor including regular lifting of heavy objects and equipment, bending, stooping, and digging to maintain grounds 

• Inspect, clean, and help maintain grounds keeping equipment to ensure safe and proper operating conditions. 

• Tournament operations 

• League Management 

• Tasks and projects assigned by the Fargo Area Sports Board of Directors and its staff

 

 Qualifications: 

• Currently pursuing a Turf Management, Bachelor Sport Management/Administration, Business, or a related field. 

• Knowledge on field equipment and previous experience of maintaining a field. 

• Strong communication and time management skills. 

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 

• Knowledge in the sport of baseball. 

• Fun and Energetic personality. 

 

Additional Information: 

• These roles will be located in our Fargo Area Sports office and at our baseball complex.

 • Interns will work from Monday – Thursday and some weekends. 

• Interns will be paid $15 per hour. Time off will be communicated by Fargo Area Sports. 

• Housing will be the responsibility of the intern.
