JOB DESCRIPTION:
The UCB team is looking for an impact-driven, professional pharmacy student to intern with US Rheumatology Medical Affairs. Students must have an interest in data generation & synthesis, rheumatology, medical affairs, medical writing, literature review & synthesis, or managed care. If you are interested in Rheumatology Medical Affairs, an internship with UCB will give you meaningful insights into the process of medical affairs strategy.
This is a very exciting opportunity for a pharmacy student, regardless of experience, to work alongside medical leadership and data scientists as part of an integrated project team.
Responsibilities may include:
- Writing study concepts and/or protocols
- Interpreting study results
- Preparing and delivering PowerPoint presentations
- Conducing literature reviews
- Synthesizing data and making recommendations to inform medical affairs strategy and process improvement
Learning objectives include:
· Critical literature appraisal
· Practicing oral presentation delivery
· Understanding the role of real-world world evidence in the product life cycle
· Building a foundation of knowledge in medical affairs, and more specifically the strategic functions of the medical affairs leadership team
Gaining scientific and business acumen through exposure to various functions with UCB’s matrix organization
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Professional student studying Pharmacy at an accredited School of Pharmacy
· Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Detail-oriented, thorough, and methodical
· Ability to come on-site 2-3 days per week
· Experience conducting literature reviews, analysis, and synthesis
