College Education Level - Doctorate
Majors = health professionals, pharmacology
UCB is looking for a science-driven doctorate or health profession pursuing student to intern with the Medical Affairs Immunology department. Medical Affairs - Immunology contributes to the overall development and execution of medical affairs initiatives for not only healthcare professionals managing immunologic conditions, but also helping serve the patients suffering from these debilitating conditions. This is a very exciting scientist or future healthcare professional to work alongside medical affairs professionals as part of an integrated project team.
Responsibilities may include:
- Supports the dermatology medical affairs team with management of medical plans
- Manages and tracks performance against departmental goals
- Manages activities from Medical Affairs agencies for key deliverables
- Manages outputs from advisory boards, field insights, and external medical affairs activity
- Leads/supports tactical projects as assigned, such as literature reviews and crafting medical reports
Learning objectives include:
- Learning the drug development process and clinical trials
- Honing skills such as communicating complex medical data and interpreting clinical trial data
- Building basic medical affairs competencies
- Gaining scientific and business acumen through exposure to various functions with UCB’s matrix organization
