About the Role
We’re looking for an Electroplating Specialist to join our Finishing Department. This is a hands-on role supporting and improving our in-house metal finishing processes.
You’ll work closely with fabricators and restoration specialists to help ensure our plated finishes are consistent, beautiful, durable, and environmentally responsible. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys applied chemistry, learning through experimentation, and working directly with materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain metal finishing systems including but not limited to: copper, nickel, and silver electroplating processes
- Monitor and help maintain bath chemistry, replenishment, and general process health
- Assist in troubleshooting surface defects, adhesion issues, and finish variability
- Participate in the development and refinement specialty surface treatments
- Help improve process consistency, efficiency, and bath longevity
- Support closed-loop systems and pollution reduction efforts
- Maintain clear records related to chemical processes, testing, and materials
- Assist with chemical inventory management and ordering
- Help train and support production staff in finishing best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Interest in metal finishing, surface chemistry, or materials processing
- Comfort working in a shop or production environment
- Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills
- Interest in sustainability and environmentally responsible manufacturing methods
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
