Position Overview
The Marketing and Membership Coordinator assists the Communications and Events Director to support AIA Wisconsin’s communications, member engagement initiatives, and events. This position plays a key role in promoting programs and events, maintaining consistent organizational messaging, and strengthening member relationships across the state.
The ideal candidate is an organized, creative, and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys balancing multiple projects in a mission-driven association setting.

Marketing & Communications
- Promote regional and statewide programs and events, including section events, the annual Conference on Architecture, and the Design Awards Gala.
- Develop and schedule social media content (LinkedIn and Instagram) that highlights events, member achievements, and organizational updates.
- Maintain a social media calendar to ensure consistent, engaging communication.
- Assist with the creation and distribution of member email communications and newsletters.
- Support collection and development of member stories for use in marketing, retention, and promotional campaigns.
- Provide general website content updates as needed.
Membership Engagement & Administration
- Manage member data and updates between AIA Wisconsin’s membership database (Fonteva) and online community platform (ToucanTech).
- Maintain accurate membership lists and ensure timely updates to communications distribution lists.
- Support membership communications and outreach efforts, including onboarding and engagement strategies for new members.
- Assist with registration and coordination for major events and programs.
- Collaborate with the Membership Committee to strengthen engagement across all membership categories.
- Respond to member inquiries and provide support as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- 1-3 Years work experience, preferably in an association or non-profit setting
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written communication and proofreading abilities
- Creative thinker with an intuitive approach to problem-solving and messaging
- Detail-oriented self-starter who can balance multiple priorities independently
- Proficiency with Canva; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
- Knowledge of the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry preferred but not required
- Writing or graphic design samples demonstrating experience in event and/or promotional campaign experience are encouraged.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Work is generally performed in an office environment and routinely requires employees to perform the following while carrying out the essential functions of this job:
- Use standard office equipment (computer, phone, printer/photocopier, etc.)
- Sit for long periods of time
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
Travel
- Minimal. Drive occasionally to statewide locations for events, meetings, etc.
