Seasonal Administrative Assistant / Tax Season Intern

Location: Columbus, GA

AJK, LLC is a well-established public accounting firm providing tax, audit, and advisory services to individuals and businesses. During tax season, we experience a significant increase in client activity and are seeking a seasonal Administrative Assistant / Intern to support our office and professional staff through our busiest time of year.

This position is ideal for someone seeking short-term professional experience in an accounting office or for a student pursuing business, administrative, or marketing studies.

Position Summary

The Seasonal Administrative Assistant / Intern will provide front-office and administrative support during peak tax season. This role serves as the first point of contact for many clients and assists with document handling, scheduling, and tax return assembly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner
  • Answer and route incoming phone calls
  • Schedule appointments and manage calendars
  • Scan, organize, and file client documents (electronic and paper)
  • Assemble, print, and package tax returns and client correspondence
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
  • Maintain organization of front office and client drop-off areas
  • Assist staff with administrative and clerical support
  • Handle sensitive client information with confidentiality
  • Perform other duties as assigned during tax season

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; college coursework in business, administrative, or marketing related field preferred
  • Prior office, clerical, or client service experience helpful
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Professional appearance and client-service mindset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Dependable and able to commit to the full tax season term

Schedule & Compensation

  • Approximately 20 hours per week during tax season
  • Temporary position from February 23 through April 17
  • $12/hour

(This position is not eligible for firm benefits due to its temporary nature.)
