Business Job Title: Finance Intern

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our dynamic team. This role provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial operations, analysis, and reporting within a professional environment. The intern will support our finance department in day-to-day operations while working on meaningful projects that contribute to the organization’s success.

Job responsibilities will be linked to key project scopes to support Finance in a variety of areas:

 

Job Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis:

 Assist in analyzing financial data and preparing reports to support decision-making.

Conduct research on market trends, financial forecasts, and other relevant data.

Identify trends and anomalies in financial data and provide actionable insights.

Support the preparation of management reports, including variance analysis (actual vs. budget).

Create financial models and forecasts to support decision-making processes.

Support strategic initiatives such as cost reduction, pricing analyses, or funding evaluations.

Forecasting:

Support the preparation of financial projections, monitoring actual versus budgeted expenses and revenues.

Track budget utilization across departments and provide updates to stakeholders.

Analyze financial performance and trends against forecasts and prepare detailed variance reports.

Audit & Compliance:

Reconcile financial statements and ensure accuracy in records.

Maintain and organize financial documentation and databases.

Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

Input financial data into accounting systems and ensure accuracy.

Prepare necessary documentation for external audits and compliance reviews.

Other:

Identify inefficiencies in existing financial processes and provide enhancements.

Participate in developing templates, tools, and workflows to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial operations.

Contribute to ad hoc projects such as system implementations or process automation.

Job Requirements:

Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Strong analytical and numerical skills.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

High level of curiosity with eagerness to learn and work in a collaborative environment.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

 

Physical Requirements:

Ability to move safely throughout all areas of the office and plant as needed, with or without accommodation

Work in office environment using computer for extended periods of time.
