CQA Legislative Fellowship
Are you interested in public policy? Do you want to learn how the California State Legislature functions with support from LGBTQ mentors? Apply to the inaugural year of the CQA Legislative Fellowship! The application is now open, and we encourage anyone who is interested and meets the application requirements to apply.
This fellowship is an opportunity for a current college or university student to get 10 weeks of hands-on legislative experience in the office of a Senator or Assemblymember. The fellowship will include professional development opportunities, networking with members of the LGBTQ Capitol community, and a capstone project to apply your new skills.
Fellowship details:
- June 22nd, 2026 - August 31st, 2026
- In-person in downtown Sacramento, California
- 28 hours/week
- $5,250 total stipend
Application requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a college or university
- At least 21 years of age
Application timeline:
- February 27, 2026: Application closes
- Early March: Interview offers are made
- Mid-March: Interviews take place
- Early April: Decisions are sent
- June 22, 2026: Fellowship begins
