About the Role
This is a business development and product marketing role at an early stage startup, with the opportunity to shape how Barrel RM grows. You’ll support a wide range of work—from outreach and early conversations with potential partners, to assessing fit, developing clear communication plans, and guiding well-aligned opportunities into active customer relationships.
We operate B2B in the spirits space, but our customer mix keeps evolving, so you’ll help Barrel RM sharpen where we focus and adjust our approach as priorities and opportunities change. You’ll help build our sales playbook, refine our sales process, and translate our brand and capabilities into clear, client-specific messaging—tailoring our go-to-market approach to what each client and project actually needs as the business and industry evolve.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities with potential customers, including brand partners and private/white-label projects
- Proactively reach out to potential customers and initiate new conversations through a mix of outreach channels, including email, phone, social platforms, events, and in-person conversations
- Introduce Barrel RM’s process and approach, helping customers understand how the company can support their specific goals and needs
- Assess potential opportunities for fit, feasibility, and alignment.
- Lead discovery through a confirmed project, then ensure a smooth handoff to the Project Manager for kickoff and execution.
- Collaborate with project management, production and leadership to evaluate new opportunities and support a smooth transition from early sales conversations into active projects.
- Evolve and refine Barrel RM’s sales approach, outreach strategy, and messaging as the company grows and the market evolves.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer visits to support sales and relationships
- Define who each product or service is for (brand founders, influencers, collaborators, etc.).

- Opportunities brought forward are well-qualified, realistic, and aligned with Barrel RM’s process and approach
- Early customer relationships are built on clarity, trust, and long-term fit
- Customers have a clear understanding of our process, scope, and expectations before projects begin
- Sales and product messaging continues to improve as insights from the market are incorporated

You communicate our capabilities at the right level for the audience—from high-level overview to technical detail—while assessing opportunity fit and helping strengthen how Barrel RM communicates its products and services. You’re comfortable qualifying opportunities thoughtfully and prioritizing those that are a strong practical and strategic fit.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Bev-Alc sales or a closely related role
- Excellent communications skills in initial sales interactions
- Self-directed and comfortable working independently in an early-stage environment
- Willingness to travel as needed for meetings, events, and customer visits; frequency varies by customer and project.
