Clinical Research Assistant II

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Clinical Research Assistant II to join the Umaretiya Lab, which focuses on advancing health equity in pediatric oncology. We design and implement innovative, equity-focused studies in the clinical setting, with a strong emphasis on social determinants of health and patient and parent-reported outcomes. We aim to improve outcomes for children with cancer and their families by focusing on adverse social risk factors.

As a Clinical Research Assistant II, you will play a crucial role maintaining multiple ongoing studies. Prior clinical research experience and knowledge regarding regulatory requirements are highly desirable for this position. Our lab includes a diverse portfolio of observational, interventional, and multi-site trials.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Screen and enroll patients and parents on studies
  • Engaging with patients and families to administer surveys and conduct interviews
  • Coordinate and maintain regulatory study compliance with federal, state, and IRB regulations— including submission of new studies, continuing reviews, modifications, and study close outs.
  • Maintains existing databases and ensures data integrity by ensuring meticulous data collection and management into CRFs or other data collection system (e.g., REDCap)

The ideal candidate thrives in a role that requires meticulous attention to detail and is a self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced research environment. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as this role requires direct engagement with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates are highly preferred.

The Umaretiya research lab offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in pediatric oncology health equity research and the conduct of clinical patient-centered research while making a meaningful impact on patients and families. This is a full-time, hybrid position with a minimum 1-year commitment.
