UCLA Cancer Immunology & Autoimmunity Research Associate

The Lechner Lab at UCLA is looking for an enthusiastic, self-driven individual to work closely with the principal investigator and research team to work on scientific projects. Our laboratory studies cancer immunology and autoimmune diseases in both animal models and humans. Research associates perform experiments involving molecular biology (PCR, CRISPR, single cell sequencing), tissue culture, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and in vivo animal models. Our group has ongoing translational studies and clinical trials in UCLA Health clinics as well. A collaborative attitude, curiosity, strong work ethic, and meticulous record keeping are needed. Routine lab maintenance (organizing and ordering supplies, keeping protocols up to date) will also be expected.

Experience gained here will be directly relevant to those with long-term interests in biomedical research and medicine - we have a strong track record of transitioning our technicians to top MD/PhD, MD, and graduate studies programs. Preference for candidates who can commit to at least one year are preferred. Candidates should have at least 1 year experience in biomedical wet laboratory research (e.g as an undergraduate research student).

Start date: Spring or Summer 2025
