Social Media Intern

The Arc of Rensselaer County is looking for a dynamic Social Media Intern for a part-time position.

This internship assists with The Arc of Rensselaer County’s development and communications efforts by creating engaging social media content, supporting fundraising campaigns and events, and promoting advocacy initiatives. Here, you will play a key role in celebrating the achievements of individuals served by The Arc and increasing community awareness of our mission of inclusion, advocacy, and building connections that enrich lives.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Experience first-hand what it takes to be a social media professional while contributing to a nonprofit mission! Reporting to the Development Coordinator, the Social Media Intern will play a key role in planning and producing educational, promotional, and creative content across The Arc’s social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and TikTok.

As a Social Media Intern, you will:

• Assist in developing and scheduling engaging posts that highlight advocacy, events, and community partnerships.
• Capture, edit, and share short-form videos, photos, and stories that showcase the people and programs of The Arc.
• Support content creation for fundraising campaigns and special events.
• Monitor social channels and contribute to building an authentic and inclusive online community.
• Help brainstorm fresh ideas to increase reach and engagement, especially on video-centered platforms.
