We specialize in serving advocacy groups, social justice-focused coalitions, and nonprofit organizations. Our team is passionate about empowering our clients to communicate their unique stories and missions, build engaged communities, and drive meaningful action. As a fellow, we require a minimum 9-12 month commitment.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Public Relations Fellow to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have writing and research experience.
Responsibilities
- Creating and maintaining press and media lists
- Manage follow-up calls to reporters, press, and news outlets for clients
- Primary research on podcasts, events, speakerships, etc., and lead in communication structures from start to finish
- Compiling, organizing, and distributing news clips
- Pitching articles to a variety of regional, national, and international news outlets
- Writing op-eds, blog posts, fact sheets, and other content
- Develop branded materials as needed: PowerPoint Presentations, one-pagers, and other supporting materials.
Qualifications
- Must be willing to work early morning for follow-up calls to press
- Must have writing and copy-editing experience
- Demonstrated interest in communications, public relations, and/or related fields
- Excellent written communication skills
- Knowledgeable in social justice news and changes in the political scene
