Social Media & Marketing Intern
Girls of Virtue is a Florida 501(c) (3) organization on a mission to empower & equip women to be grounded spiritually, mentally, physically, and financially. It is important to bring together a community of young women so that they have a safe environment to teach them the proper skills they need to face today’s complex generation. Through mentorship, workshops, and education, we will instill these life skills.
Social Media & Marketing Intern Job Responsibilities:
- Manages the company’s social media accounts and posts content.
- Brainstorm campaign ideas.
- Monitor various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Analyzes analytics to gauge campaign success.
- Understands the company's overall concept, including the brand, customers, product goals, and all other aspects of service.
- Engages with the community and provides service and knowledge of the organization.
- Provide suggestions to management for improving engagement on social platforms and internal processes.
- Learns and becomes proficient on internal software systems.
- Assists in creating performance reports.
- Support marketing campaign planning and execution.
- Write copy for social media posts, promotional emails, and other marketing collateral.
- Assist in the creation of written, video, and image content for marketing channels.
- Participate in marketing brainstorming sessions.
- Assist in the management of our website.
- Take part in formal and informal training opportunities.
- Measure and report the results of marketing initiatives.

Through an internship, you will be part of an intern class of six, all in different departments, but working together as one team. As the Social Media and Marketing Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn and gain experience in the non-profit sector and interact with other GOV interns. You will also gain experience applying project management principles, participating in projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Social Media & Marketing Intern Qualifications / Skills:

- Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
- Creative problem-solving skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic photography, image and video editing, and graphic design skills
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, social sciences, or a related field
- Successful completion of introductory courses in marketing, business, or equivalent
- Proficient with the use of Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Google Drive, etc.)
- Previous experience with the use of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere Pro) and social media management tools (Business Suite, Hootsuite, Sprout Social) is a plus
- Experience working in Canva
- Experience in Bloomerang
- Prior industry experience is preferred
