Qualifications
The high school principal shall have at least three years teaching experience,
administrative or supervisory experience, at minimum of a Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education, and a certificate from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in the area of secondary administration. The principal must possess knowledge of instructional strategies, assessment practices, and effective classroom management and discipline techniques. The principal must exhibit effective communication skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community.

Supervisor
The high school principal will report directly to the Assistant Superintendent of
Academic Services.

Duties
The duties of the high school principal will include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Establish and maintain an effective learning climate within a safe environment.
2. Supervise the instructional process (including PLC and A+ Schools) with routine classroom visits.
3. Supervise the guidance program to enhance each student's education and development.
4. Supervise At-Risk Programs and summer school.
5. Establish guides for proper student conduct, maintain student discipline, and
advise teachers on student matters.
6. Be responsible for ensuring the supervision of all extra-curricular activities.
7. Supervise building level implementation of all assessment programs.
8. Supervise and prepare all reports, data, and documents as required.
9. Assign all responsibilities as needed.
10. Supervise and evaluate building administration, faculty, and staff
11. Report building maintenance to the Executive Director of Operations.
12. Be accountable for all public relations and printed materials.
13. Prepare and submit the building budget and supervise the expenditure of funds.
14. Maintain and control all funds generated by student activities, clubs, and
organizations.
15. Pursue professional growth.
16. Demonstrate conduct representative of the school and establish and maintain agood relationship with the community.
17. Lead development, implementation, and evaluation of BSIP.
18. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
