JOB TITLE:  Assistant Counselor            

DEPARTMENT: Auxiliary Programs            

REPORTS TO: Sarah Shorten            

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt    

SEASON: Summer 2026 (Early June to Mid August)    

Position Summary:

Hathaway Brown’s Summer Camp is seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and caring individuals to join our team as Assistant Camp Counselors. Assistant Counselors create a positive, engaging environment where campers feel safe, supported, and inspired to try new things.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist camp counselors with group activities, games, and crafts.
  • Help supervise campers during transitions, snack, swimming lessons, and playground times.
  • Support daily transitions, snack and lunch times, and cleanup routines.
  • Serve as a positive role model and demonstrate respect, responsibility, and kindness.
  • Learn about child development, behavior management, and activity planning.
     

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Enthusiasm for working with children and being part of a team.
  • Dependable, flexible, and willing to learn.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (training may be provided).

Schedule:
Seasonal, weekday hours between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., June through August. Lunch provided!
