Position Overview
Assist with the coordination and daily operation of a 10-week Summer Day Camp for children ages 6 to 12. This leadership role supports the Camp Director with daily operations, staff supervision, scheduling, and program planning while helping create a fun, safe, and engaging camp environment. Camp operates out of South Western City Schools buildings and includes field trips.
Key Responsibilities
• Support and assume Director duties when needed
• Help plan and manage daily camp operations
• Assist with staff scheduling and supervision
• Oversee camper sign-in and sign-out procedures
• Help prepare parent newsletters and communications
• Plan activities and prepare supply lists
• Guide and supervise campers during activities
• Maintain camper safety and enforce camp rules
• Complete attendance, incident reports, and required documentation
• Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive behavior
• Maintain clean and organized camp spaces
Qualifications
• Must be at least 18 years old and one year removed from high school
• Previous experience working with children required
• Ability to work flexible hours, up to 40 hours per week
• CPR and First Aid certification required
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to lead physical activities and swim
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
• Reliable attendance and professional conduct
Preferred Experience
• Coursework or experience in recreation, education, or youth programs
• Strong customer service and public interaction skills
