Chemist

Required Experience:

• Minimum Associates Degree in Chemistry. Bachelors Degree Preferred.
• Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
• Project and time management skills.
• 1-3 years of lab experience. Quality control experience preferred, but not required.
• Must have strong mathematics skill.
• Follow instructions and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen prior to employment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support new product Research and Development through preparation and testing of liquid and cured coating samples under direction of the Operations Manager.
• Quality Control testing of production batches.

Specific Duties:

• Operate lab equipment: Mixers, lab scales, environmental chamber, viscometer, gel timer, lab oven, etc.
• Maintain detailed records of all samples prepared and tested by recording formulation information and test results in the lab data base.
• Maintain proper records of all quality control procedures required of production batches. Organize batch retains.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment in the lab area by performing general housekeeping duties.
• Overtime as needed.
