Technical Assistant to the CEO (Autonomous Driving & AI Strategy)

Technical Assistant to the CEO (Autonomous Driving & AI Strategy)

About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious, tech-savvy individual to serve as the Technical Assistant to a serial entrepreneur and investor. The Principal operates across the U.S. and China, focusing on high-growth opportunities in Autonomous Driving (AD) applications for logistics/retail and Large Language Models (LLMs).

This is not a traditional administrative role. It is a high-impact "Apprenticeship" designed for a STEM graduate who wants to bridge the gap between engineering and business strategy. You will act as the Principal's "right hand" in high-stakes client meetings, negotiations, and technical evaluations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executive Translation & Communication: Act as the primary bridge during business negotiations. You must fluently translate complex technical concepts (e.g., AD perception stacks, supply chain logistics, API integrations) and business nuances between English and Mandarin Chinese. Native-level English fluency is required for this aspect.
  • Client Engagement & Solutions: Accompany the Principal to visit key clients in the logistics, express delivery, and retail sectors. You will help map our technical solutions to their operational pain points (e.g., last-mile delivery challenges).
  • Technical Due Diligence: Assist in evaluating new technologies and startups. While you will not be writing production code daily, you must have the technical literacy to understand LLM capabilities and Autonomous Driving standards (L2-L4) to assess feasibility and risks.
  • Operations & Logistics: Manage the Principal’s business schedule in the Bay Area and provide reliable driving support for client visits and roadshows across Northern California.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM field.
  • Language Skills: Native-level English is a MUST. You must be able to command a room and negotiate complex commercial terms in English. Fluent Mandarin Chinese is required for internal communication.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with the current landscape of AI, GenAI/LLMs, and Autonomous Driving technologies.
  • Driver: Valid U.S. Driver’s License with a clean driving record. Comfortable driving for extended periods in the Bay Area.
  • Mindset: High EQ, discreet, and adaptable. You are a problem solver who aspires to become a founder, product manager, or VC investor in the future.

What We Offer

  • Mentorship: Direct access to the Principal’s extensive network in both Silicon Valley and China. You will learn firsthand how deals are structured and how cross-border businesses are built.
  • Visa Support: We are committed to supporting international talent. We offer OPT and H1B sponsorship for the right candidate.
  • Career Growth: High potential to transition into a core Product or Operations leadership role within our portfolio companies after 12-18 months of successful performance.
