If so, the Copper Country Intermediate School District has an immediate opening for an Early Childhood Programs Specialist in Hancock, Michigan.
The Early Childhood Programs Specialist works alongside the Early Childhood Specialist to develop the skills and experience needed to support a high-quality preschool experience aligned with the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) model. This position blends hands-on learning, coaching support, and data-informed practices to strengthen early childhood classrooms across the region.
WHAT YOU WILL DO.
- Learn and apply the GSRP Implementation Manual to independently perform Early Childhood Specialist responsibilities.
- Obtain certification in the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) observation tool.
- Build collaborative, trust-based relationships with teaching teams using strength-based coaching.
- Participate in classroom data review meetings and support the goal-setting process.
- Assist with the development and refinement of GSRP processes and procedures across the organization.
- Attend ISD local, community, and state-level meetings and professional learning opportunities.
- Carry a caseload of children who meet special education eligibility requirements.
- Collect, analyze, and report data to the Director of Early Childhood to support program decision-making.
- Utilize existing data systems to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
WHAT WE OFFER.
- $51,800 – $80,300 annual starting salary based on education and years of experience.
- Health insurance, or if no health insurance is needed—-we’ll pay you $661.84/month instead (yes, even during the summer break).

- Paid time off: sick days (10), personal days (4).

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
- A Master’s degree in early childhood education or child development.
- 5 or more years of relevant experience in early childhood education, such as working with young children in group settings, program planning and implementation, evaluation, staff development, or program management.
- Familiarity with Michigan’s Early Childhood Standards of Quality and GSRP expectations, or the ability to learn them quickly.
- An understanding of what high-quality preschool classrooms look and feel like.
- Experience with the CLASS observation tool, or willingness to complete training.
- Exposure to developmental screeners, curricula, and child assessment tools used in early childhood settings.
- Working knowledge of early literacy and early math instructional practices.
- A valid Michigan Driver’s License and comfort traveling between local districts.
- Reliable, on-time attendance and the ability to be present where the work happens.
