To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, organized leader to join our team as an Airline Dispatch Supervisor in our Flight Operations Department. The primary responsibility of the position is to monitor assigned flights, communicate modifications made to the flight schedule and plans, and implement irregular operations as necessary. The successful candidate has at least five years of dispatcher experience and their FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Flight Operations.
Essential Duties:
Continually monitor the assigned flights, looking for late running flights, aircraft out of service, status and assignment of crew members and any other problems preventing on-time flight service
Communicate modifications made to the flight schedule and/or tail number reassignments with the appropriate departments
Ensure aircraft requiring scheduled maintenance are routed into the appropriate maintenance base
Supervise the quality of the dispatch release, flight following and operational control processes
Ensure the Sabre/Bornemann software information is complete, accurate and complies with all company and CFR requirements
Oversee communication between dispatchers, crew schedulers, maintenance controllers and management
Plan/implement irregular operations as necessary
Hold, re-route or cancel flights based on either safety and/or economic reasons depending on inputs provided by the dispatcher and/or crew scheduler
Notify and respond to management/senior management questions on a real-time basis regarding operational problems, such as accidents, major incidents and/or newsworthy events
Resolve disputes between personnel and/or between departments on any given shift
Act as the central problem solver or trouble-shooter in response to telephone calls from crewmembers, stations, or maintenance personnel by providing advice or direction on problem resolution
Manage all security threats that occur on the day of operation
Periodically audit a sample of dispatch releases during every shift
Ensure information transferred from the Sabre/Bornemann system is passed correctly to the airline reservation system
Coordinate with the crew scheduling supervisor/crew schedulers to verify times, delays and cancellation messages are processed correctly
Maintain a daily log of significant events in order to assist in reporting, follow-up, and relief briefing
Job Qualifications and Competencies:
At least five years of airline dispatcher experience
FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite applications
Advanced problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize time and resources in crises
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous airline dispatch supervisory experience
Excellent leadership, coaching and conflict resolution skills
Strong understanding of business management, financial and leadership principles
Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field
Work Environment:
Standard office environment, use of telephones, computers, and other office equipment
Available to work any shift including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements:
Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds

Employment is contingent upon a clear driving record, 10-year Criminal History Records Check, and drug screen as required. We also require proof of high school or GED completion. Minimum 18 years of age.

Starting Rate:
$72,000.00/Annual Salary
