About the Internship
Woodruff Scout Camp is seeking a highly organized and motivated Business Manager Intern to support the administrative, financial, and operational functions of one of Scouting America’s premier summer camps. This internship is ideal for students majoring in Business, Accounting, Management, Operations, or Nonprofit Administration seeking hands-on experience.

Key Responsibilities
Financial & Administrative Management
• Manage staff payroll and collect time sheets with accuracy and confidentiality
• Maintain payroll, purchasing, and inventory spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel
• Reconcile invoices and support purchasing with Camp Director approval
• Maintain digital and physical administrative documentation
• Prepare weekly administrative and operational reports for the Camp Director
Purchasing, Inventory & Logistics
• Coordinate vendor deliveries and supply orders for program areas
• Maintain a master inventory log of equipment and supplies
• Process purchase requests and track orders
• Support troop check-in and administrative tasks
Staff & Operational Support
• Assist with onboarding seasonal staff and preparing documentation
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with Scouting America policies
Qualifications & Requirements
• Minimum age: 18
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and tables
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• High attention to detail
• Preferred experience in business administration, purchasing, or operations
• Professional communication skills
• First Aid/CPR certification (training available at camp)
• Independent worker and team collaborator
• Eligible for college internship credit (school approval required)
General Leadership Expectations
• Support meal serving, cleanup, and camp-wide logistics
• Assist with bathhouse cleaning and facility upkeep weekly
• Participate in flag ceremonies and assemblies
• Support campfire programs and evening events
• Serve as a positive role model for staff and campers
Work Environment
This position operates primarily in the camp administrative office, balancing computer-based work with on-site coordination. Housing and meals are provided on site.
