Associate, Partnership Sales

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

The FSM Partnership Sales team is responsible for generating revenue by selling across FSM’s portfolio of properties, including the Boston Red Sox, Liverpool FC, NESN, RFK Racing, Pittsburgh Penguins, Fenway Music Company, Boston Common Golf and LRMR, and strategic partners such as the LPGA. Key attributes required to excel in this position are strong oral and written communication skills, along with a strong drive to collaborate effectively with a dynamic, results-oriented sales team. 

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Associate, Partnership Sales role is a one-year Associateship that is responsible for assisting the FSM sales operation in driving revenue to the Fenway Sports Group properties and FSM strategic partners through sponsorship sales. This role will work alongside FSM’s senior sales management and business strategy teams in the New York and Boston offices to learn the basics of sponsorship sales while actively contributing to and working with FSM sales leads to sell FSM assets, affording recent college graduates and early professionals who are interested in pursuing a career in sports sponsorships hands-on experience in the corporate marketplace.

 

The role is based in New York and Boston and the hourly rate for this role is $20-$25 dependent on location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prospecting and developing new business opportunities.
  • Researching and developing category strategies.
  • Assisting with the preparation of brand briefs, presentations, proposals, and RFP responses.
  • Thinking creatively and analytically as to why brands would invest in a partnership.
  • Acting as a key liaison between sellers and the sales support team, facilitating collaboration with partnership solutions, data & insights, creative services, and strategy & operations.
  • Creating weekly status reports and client updates in a structured and formal format as provided and directed by FSM via Salesforce (and FSM sales team management).
  • Providing client hospitality support during Red Sox games at Fenway during the season (Boston-based Associates).

CHARACTERISTICS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the sports business industry is a plus.
  • Strong desire to pursue a career in sports sponsorships, with an interest in sales.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of integrity and ethics, both professional and personal.
  • High attention to detail and ability to organize and multi-task, while working independently is essential.
  • Exceptional time-management skills, with the ability to execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • CRM Experience is a plus.
