Development & Membership Intern
The Rabbit Room seeks a detail-oriented, relationally minded intern to support our Development and Membership team. This role plays a vital part in stewarding our core supporters, welcoming new friends into the Rabbit Room community, and helping sustain the work of nourishing Christ-centered communities for the life of the world.
As a Development & Membership Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, and database management while contributing meaningfully to the day-to-day work of caring for our supporters. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, clear communication, and behind-the-scenes work that makes mission-driven programs possible.
What You’ll Do
Donor Support
Respond to donor and member inquiries with professionalism, warmth, and discretion
- Maintain accurate donor and member records in our database
- Write and process donor and membership acknowledgment letters and emails
- Assist with stewardship efforts that help donors feel seen, thanked, and connected
Database Management
- Become proficient in our donor database, including:
- Maintaining donor profiles and recording transactions
- Generating and managing donation and membership reports
- Tracking donor communications
- Performing regular database maintenance and cleanup
- Support data entry and reporting needs related to fundraising and membership initiatives
Fundraising & Events
- Assist with corporate sponsorships and the fulfillment of associated benefits
- Support the planning and execution of donor stewardship and fundraising events
- Help with additional fundraising or organizational tasks as needed to meet development goals
Collaboration & Mission Support
- Work closely with the Development and Membership team
- Collaborate across departments to support Rabbit Room programs and initiatives
- Represent the Rabbit Room’s mission and values in all donor-facing interactions
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Experience or interest in nonprofit development, fundraising, or administration
- Comfort with data entry and spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets); advanced proficiency is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written communication and grammar
- Familiarity with Canva or basic graphic design is a plus
- Customer service mindset with a genuine desire to help others
- Ability to anticipate next steps, take initiative, and follow through
- Willingness to receive direction and constructive feedback
- A desire to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to a mission-driven organization
What to Expect
- Internships are offered on a seasonal basis. This internship will run from early January until early May. Internship may optionally continue into the summer at the discretion of the Rabbit Room staff.
- Rabbit Room office hours are Monday-Friday 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Intern will be expected to fulfill a minimum of 8 hours per week, and a maximum of 12 hours per week at $15 per hour.
- Applicants must be located in Nashville. All interns work in person at North Wind Manor in Antioch, Tennessee.
