Location: Remote: Hudson Valley/ NYC-adjacent preferred
Time: 10-15 hrs/week (flexible)
Duration: 8–12 weeks in early-mid 2026 (with option to extend)
Compensation: Paid internship + real-world experience

 

About Chikka Chikka

Chikka Chikka is a fast-growing, innovative, functional snack brand reimagining a beloved South Asian tradition—-roasted fennel seeds—as a joyful, beautiful, digestion-supporting treat. We launched in 2024 and have been featured by major media outlets like New York Times Wirecutter, stocked by over 140 thoughtful retailers, and embraced by customers who care about wellness, culture, and good design. We’re a small, founder-led business with big momentum—and we’re looking for a student who wants hands-on brand-building experience.

 

The Role

We’re seeking a Marketing & Social Media Intern to help us sharpen our messaging, grow our audience, and increase sales. You’ll work directly with the founders and get exposure to real decisions around brand, growth, and strategy.

This is ideal for someone interested in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), consumer marketing, brand strategy, and/or entrepreneurship.

 

What You’ll Do

Marketing & Strategy

  • Help develop and refine Chikka Chikka’s brand positioning and messaging
  • Analyze customer data, social performance, and trends to identify growth opportunities
  • Support campaign planning for product launches, gift guides, and seasonal pushes
  • Research influencers, relevant media, and adjacent brands for insights and inspiration

 

Social Media & Content

  • Help plan and generate Instagram (and potentially TikTok) content
  • Draft captions that balance warmth, wit, and clarity
  • Track engagement metrics and propose experiments to improve reach and conversion
  • Collaborate on content ideas (UGC, behind-the-scenes, founder stories, education)

Bonus (Optional, Based on Interest)

  • Email marketing (flows, campaigns, subject line testing)
  • Influencer or media outreach support
  • Retail or partnership storytelling assets

 

Who You Are

  • Pursuing an MBA, degree in marketing, communications, media, design, or related field 
  • Interested in CPG, consumer brands, wellness, food, or startups
  • Comfortable thinking strategically and getting into the details
  • A strong writer with a feel for brand voice
  • Organized, curious, and self-directed
  • Familiarity with Instagram, analytics, or marketing tools is a plus (but not required)
  • Creative mindset with graphic design skills and photography experience preferred

 

Who We Are

We are a husband-wife team that work together as consultants. We previously built, ran, and sold a restaurant, and are now building a CPG snack brand. We live and work in the Hudson Valley, in Wallkill, a few miles from New Paltz. We have won awards, are engaged in numerous social impact projects, and are reasonable and easy-going people.   

  • Sabeen is in charge of product development (and is a licensed architect)
  • Arif heads partnerships and sales (and is also an urban planner)
