Title: Construction Intern
Location: Walpole Office & Job Sites
The Construction Intern will be responsible to:
• Assist Project Managers and APMs in the day-to-day management of projects.
• Process Submittals and RFI’s utilizing construction specific software.
• Assist in Change Management as directed by Project Managers or APMs.
• Assist Project Managers in communicating effectively with the Owner, coordinating team meetings, preparing and updating Meeting Minutes, and helping prepare contract documents.
• Type meeting agendas for all project meetings.
• Support Project Manager(s) in the preparation and maintenance of daily and monthly reports.
• Assist in the preparation, updating, and distribution of Punchlists in a timely manner.
• Work with Insurance Coordinator to ensure insurance and bonds are current and accurate.
• Assist Project Managers in obtaining required permits for the work from local, state and federal agencies.
• Assist Project Managers, Operations Manager and Vice President in other duties as may be assigned.
• Assist team with maintenance of the project schedule.
• Assist Field Personnel with daily reports (logs of key activities, files and shop drawings, daily photographs, etc.).
• Assist with taking, storing and uploading daily construction job-site photographs as needed.
• Report any problems promptly to the Project Manager(s).
• Assist Superintendent(s) on jobsites with the implementation of job site safety procedures, notifications, signage, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist in preparing material take-offs and order materials.
• Attend periodic meetings including owner meetings, subcontractor meetings, and internal BHB meetings and trainings.
• Ensure that as-built working drawings are maintained as well as the current drawing log and revision log, communicating this to the subcontractors.
• Assist with Estimating when needed.
• Assist Office Manager with tasks in the BHB Walpole office.
• Assist Project Administration with miscellaneous duties such as phone calls, filing, and collection and assembly of O&M materials.
• Assist BHB Team in coordination of special events.
• Assist BHB Marketing Coordinator in maintaining BHB social media posts.
• Other duties as necessary.
The Construction Summer Intern will report the Operations Manager, and/or Project Manager(s) as may be assigned to their project(s).
Qualifications: Interns shall:
• Be students in an accredited school, earning a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related disciplines.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office software, including MS Word & MS Excel.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Be hard working, passionate, and have a high degree of integrity.
• Act with the highest degree of professionalism.
• Be committed to excellence.
• Be self-motivated and self-confident.
• Be capable of dealing with ambiguity and tight work oversight.
• Be able to multi-task and handle competing priorities while maintaining excellent customer relations.

• Have judgment to know when to appropriately escalate issues up the chain of command.
• Be a quick study and be capable of responding to complex issues.
• Have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to take action confidently and decisively.
• Be willing to wear a uniform consisting of OSHA approved footwear, hardhat, tan pants, collared shirts and monogrammed jackets when on jobsites.
• Have a working vehicle and a clean driving record.
• Show up to work Monday – Friday, unless giving proper notification to management for absences. Work a full schedule of 8 hours, unless leaving early requests are made to manager and approved. Show up to work on time.
• Be willing to travel within a 100-mile radius of Boston, MA.
