Manufacturing IT Intern

We are growth focused and believe that a positive working environment is critical to our success.  Currently we are recruiting for an Manufacturing IT Intern. This position will provide the successful candidates with the chance to apply skills and work as a team within a clean and safe environment.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Manufacturing IT Intern’s primary responsibilities include assisting IT professionals with a variety of tasks to support the company's manufacturing operations. Interns might help with troubleshooting technical issues, installing software, maintaining computer systems, and supporting IT services, including network management and system updates. They gain hands-on experience while working under the supervision of IT professionals.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

As an I.T. Manufacturing Technician Intern, you will:

 

  • Monitor and respond to manufacturing IT system issues in real time.

 

  • Assist with troubleshooting plant hardware and software problems.

 

  • Support IS team members with project work, including equipment setup and deployment.

 

  • Work on assigned IT projects during periods of low end-user support demand.

 

  • Learn and apply principles of safety and company protocols.

 

  • Participate in IATF 16949 awareness training and understand compliance in a production environment.

 

What You’ll Learn

 

  • Microsoft Network Operating Systems and desktop OS support.
  • Networking technologies in a manufacturing context.
  • Manufacturing software (CMS) and Cisco IP phone systems.
  • IT support and problem resolution processes in an automotive JIT (Just-in-Time) production environment.
  • Team collaboration and communication in a professional workplace.

 

Manufacturing IT Intern Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Current enrollment in an associate or bachelor’s degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

 

  • Strong interest in IT systems, networking, and manufacturing operations.

 

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft OS and general computer hardware/software.

 

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

 

  • Willingness to work on-site in a manufacturing environment.

 

  • Prior experience or coursework related to manufacturing or IT is a plus, but not required.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 10 pounds.

 

  • Capable of standing, walking, and performing manual tasks for extended periods.

 

  • Must comply with safety requirements and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
