Education Assistant
Offers person-centered supportive services for individuals with developmental disabilities pursuing a college education, including in-class and out-of-class tutorials, subject matter review, peer mentorship, and necessary personal care services.
- Support includes in-class guidance, assistance with campus resource navigation, discovering extracurriculars, and introducing new learning techniques.
- Provides instruction to consumers at college sites in the manner most effective to the consumers, including: demonstration, verbal and non-verbal cues, and visual aids.
- Engages actively with consumers at college sites to ensure that the consumers are sufficiently served so as to meet classroom quality requirements.
Provides effective instruction to consumers in order to achieve their
ISP (Individualized Support Plan) goals and objectives.
- Collects and records data during each class session to consumers degree path on progress and all other relevant information in progress notes.
Attends all mandatory meetings, including: staff meetings, all-staff meetings, scheduled trainings, and meetings with managers.
Follows CRS-IL policies and procedures on employee attendance and tardiness.
