Business Development Associate

Are you a highly motivated self-starter with excellent people skills looking to launch your sales career?

Spherion Seattle, a locally owned and operated staffing and recruiting franchise, is looking for an energetic Business Development Associate (BDA) to help us partner with top local and regional employers.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and wants to learn the staffing industry from the ground up. You will be instrumental in generating new business by connecting local companies in need of temporary and permanent workforce solutions with Spherion's custom services.

What We're Looking For (Skills & Experience)

We are seeking candidates who are coachable, resilient, and possess a winning attitude. Less experience? No problem! We prioritize strong communication and drive.

Required Skills:

  • Exceptional Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence, engage, and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Self-Motivation: A high degree of drive, resilience, and a desire to achieve results in a metrics-driven environment.
  • A "Can-Do" Attitude: Ability to take direction, execute a plan, and adapt to feedback quickly.
  • Local Commute: Must be willing to commute to our office and client locations across King County.
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States (visa sponsorships are not provided).

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in a customer service, sales, or other goal-oriented environment.
  • Current college student or recent college graduate.
  • Prior knowledge of the staffing industry is a bonus, but not required.

What You'll Be Doing (Your Mission)

The BDA focuses on the initial stages of the sales process: reaching out to new businesses, establishing contact, and building the foundation for long-term partnerships.

  • Lead Generation & Outreach: Execute a data-driven plan to identify, cold call, email, and reach out to target businesses and hiring managers across the Seattle area.
  • Consultative Communication: Clearly articulate the benefits of partnering with Spherion, asking insightful questions to understand the client's current workforce challenges.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong initial relationships with prospective clients through phone calls, professional emails, and introductory meetings/visits.
  • Market Analysis: Use internal data and market knowledge to strategically identify which prospects would benefit most from a partnership with Spherion.
  • Data Management: Thoroughly document all outreach activities, customer journeys, and account details in our system to ensure seamless follow-up.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the recruiting and management teams to transition qualified leads into active clients.

Pay offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. In addition, Spherion offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, and an incentive and recognition program (all benefits are based on eligibility).
