JOB OVERVIEW
GENERAL PURPOSE
Performs clerical, technical, and customer service work to support the daily operations of the Assessor’s office. With regular attendance, this position maintains data, assists the public and internal staff, and processes records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Accurately record and maintain changes to real estate property characteristics.
• Process real estate transfer documents.
• Receive and review sketches of various property types from materials provided by appraisal staff; create digital drawings using department-specific software programs.
• Respond to inquiries from staff and the public.
• Provide assistance to Homestead Exemption inquiries and process documents.
• Assist appraisers with documentation for annual property valuation protest.
• Update data to adjust property information to reflect decisions and/or information received from meetings with taxpayers, board actions, hearings, and/or appeals.
• Maintain and organize plat maps, records, files, and documentation to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with records retention requirements.
• Research issues related to deeds and documents.
• Provide assistance with Personal Property filings.
• Review and check materials for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with departmental policies, regulations, and laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• 2 years of experience in an administrative or clerical role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse individuals.

The work environment is typically a professional office setting, involving regular use of computers, standard office equipment, and frequent interaction with both internal staff and the public in a structured, task-oriented atmosphere.
