Position Summary:
The Cloud Infrastructure Intern will support the Infrastructure & Operations team during a 10-week summer internship by assisting with the evaluation, development, and documentation of infrastructure solutions across traditional on-premises workloads and containerized environments, with an emphasis on emerging AI and Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities.
This is an on-site, hands-on role based in Franklin, TN, providing exposure to enterprise on-prem and hybrid infrastructure, container technologies, and modern automation practices while supporting initiatives related to reliability, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in researching and evaluating infrastructure and cloud-adjacent services, including AI and LLM platforms.
- Support proof-of-concept development across traditional on-prem and virtualized workloads and containerized workloads.
- Assist with deploying, observing, and documenting workloads in on-prem and containerized environments under supervision.
- Participate in identifying opportunities to improve infrastructure operations through automation and AI-enabled tooling.
- Support basic container lifecycle activities in non-production environments.
- Collaborate with Cloud, Network, Telecom, and On-Prem Infrastructure teams.
- Assist with creating and maintaining technical documentation and diagrams.
- Prepare and deliver a summary presentation or demonstration of internship work.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of virtual machines, operating systems, and cloud concepts.
- Familiarity with at least one scripting or programming language.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Franklin, TN for the full internship period.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or container concepts.
- Familiarity with VMware or enterprise virtualization platforms.
- Experience with automation, APIs, or infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience using version control systems.
Additional Information:
This internship provides supervised, hands-on experience in an enterprise on-prem infrastructure environment. The internship culminates in a capstone project where you’ll present your work and insights to leadership. Consideration for future employment may be based on performance and business needs.
