Internship Overview

We are seeking Sales Development Interns to join our team for a 6-month, full-time, on-site internship. This role is ideal for motivated individuals who want real-world sales experience, exposure to business funding strategy, and the opportunity to transition into a full-time role upon successful completion.

This is not a remote role.

Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

⚠ Due to the on-site, full-time schedule, this role is not ideal for students enrolled full-time in classes during the semester.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Sales Development Intern, you will:

  • Follow up with business owners who have already been identified as having interest or intent using proprietary lead intelligence tools
  • Engage prospects through phone calls, emails, and structured follow-up sequences
  • Qualify prospects and guide them toward the appropriate next step
  • Educate prospects at a high level about PENUELCapital’s foundational business funding coaching program
  • Maintain accurate notes and updates within our CRM
  • Learn professional sales communication, objection handling, and consultative positioning
  • Consistently meet activity and performance benchmarks set by the sales team

You will not be cold calling random lists—leads are pre-qualified based on business intent data.

Compensation & Incentives

This internship offers performance-based compensation with uncapped earning potential.

  • 10% commission on each client who enrolls in the foundational funding coaching program
  • Coaching program price: $5,000 per client
  • Commission per enrollment: $500
  • Uncapped earning potential: No cap on the number of clients you can close per month
  • Performance-based bonuses: Additional bonuses awarded for initiative, consistency, and exceptional performance
  • No hourly or salaried base pay

Compensation Disclosure:
This role is commission-based. Any hourly or estimated pay displayed by Handshake is a platform-generated estimate and does not reflect guaranteed hourly wages. Compensation is earned through commissions, with uncapped earning potential.

Your income is directly tied to your effort and results.

Growth Opportunity

  • Internship duration: 6 months
  • Upon successful completion, interns may be offered a full-time Sales Development Representative (SDR) position
  • Top performers will have opportunities for advancement and increased responsibility as the company grows
