Event Staffing Intern
Company Overview:
Southern Entertainment is a full-service event and production company producing premier music festivals across the United States, including Carolina Country Music Fest, Barefoot Country Music Fest, Lovin’ Life Music Fest, Georgia Country Music Fest, and Greenville Country Music Fest. Our interns gain hands-on experience assisting our team with the development and execution of high-profile live events.
This internship will be primarily focused on the preparation and execution of Carolina Country Music Fest (June 4–7, 2026) and Barefoot Country Music Fest (June 18–21, 2026), with opportunities to assist on additional events as needed.
Position Summary:
The Event Staffing Intern will assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and management of staff and volunteers for large-scale music festivals. This position provides hands-on experience in event operations, human resources, volunteer coordination, and team leadership, while working closely with industry professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with recruitment and hiring, including sourcing, screening, and onboarding staff and volunteers
- Support training and professional development for new and returning staff
- Assist with payroll administration, tracking hours, and ensuring accurate compensation
- Support staff relations and policy compliance, including conflict resolution, enforcing HR policies, and fostering positive work environments
- Contribute to project management of the volunteer lifecycle, focusing on communication, role clarity, and process efficiency
- Assist with administrative tasks and support managers with special projects during events
Qualifications:
- Current UNC Charlotte student or recent graduate in Event Management, Human Resources, Hospitality, Business Administration, Communications, or related fields
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and attention-to-detail skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office
- Available for festival weekends and flexible hours as needed
- Interest in human resources, volunteer coordination, or event operations
