Human Resources Intern

POSITION SUMMARY:

The HR Intern is responsible for providing administrative support in key areas of human resources, including onboarding/offboarding, and HRIS. This role is essential to maintaining compliance and ensuring smooth HR operations. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists with the pre-employment & onboarding process, including background checks for individuals.
  • Completes and finalizes I-9 documentation through E-Verify.
  • Completes Lowe’s Background Check Completion.
  • Completes Monthly Motor Vehicle Reports in accordance with Driver Policy. 
  • Reviews Certifications in Paycom and works with VP of HR to ensure compliance. 
  • Completes document and checklist review in Paycom to ensure timely completion. 
  • Assist with data entry and reporting from the HRIS system. 
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring applicable federal, state, and local HR regulations. 
  • Monitor HR communication and distribute accordingly
  • Ensure all internal documentation is current, organized, and relevant.
  • Works on activities and/or projects as requested in support of the HR team. 

 

ABILITIES, SKILLS, AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills. 
  • Ability to handle extremely sensitive and confidential business information with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel). 
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment with a high sense of urgency and maintain high standards of accuracy. 
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills. 

EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently enrolled in a Business Management or HR Management Degree/Program
  • Completion of Sophomore year
  • Currently enrolled Full-Time at school
  • Must be 18+ years of age
  • Must be able to reliably commute to corporate location

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:

None required for this position. 

 

SCHEDULE:

Ability to commit to a February 2026 – June 2026 timeframe for assignment

Approximately 20-25 hours per week

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

For the most part, ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
