Role Description

Alpha Star Research is hiring a full-time Quantitative Researcher to join our growing team in New York. You will turn research insights into data-driven trading strategies and work closely with quantitative developers to ensure smooth strategy deployment in a real-time environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze large volumes of financial data to identify, validate, and monitor trading signals and investment opportunities.
  • Independently design, implement, and backtest systematic trading strategies using statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Monitor live strategy performance and proactively manage risk and robustness.
  • Collaborate with quantitative developers to deploy and maintain strategies in a low-latency trading environment.
  • Document research findings and present key insights to the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science or a related field from a globally recognized top-tier university. (open to candidates at all levels—from bachelor’s to PhD)
  • Demonstrated strength in mathematics and deep physical intuition.
  • Ability to conduct independent research and solve complex problems.
  • Proficient in English, capable of reading academic literature and engaging in clear daily communication; strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working in a results-driven, flexible startup culture.
  • Preferred: Prior experience in quantitative research.
