Human Services Intern
Description:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Human Services Intern to join our team. This internship provides hands-on experience working alongside a Mental Health Professional (MHP) while supporting a shared caseload. The intern will assist with case management for individuals experiencing behavioral challenges, mental health needs, and/or disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with case management services under the supervision of a MHP
- Connect clients to essential resources such as housing, employment, medical care, and community services
- Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure access to appropriate supports
- Monitor client progress and help maintain continuity of services
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation required for Medicaid and other funding sources
- Support and educate clients’ families and support systems on effective strategies for managing behaviors
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- Must be enrolled in school and in good academic standing
- Ability and willingness to travel for in-person services
- Relevant certifications are a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Commitment to professional growth and ongoing learning in the behavioral health field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of behavioral health practices and child and family counseling techniques
