Tourism, Hospitality, & Event Management Intern

TOURISM, HOSPITALITY, AND EVENT MANAGEMENT INTERN


The National Comedy Center is currently seeking candidates for its 2026 internship program. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience at an award-winning non-profit cultural institution and 
national destination. The state-of-the-art National Comedy Center was recently named the “Best New Museum” in the country by USA Today and one of the “World’s Greatest Places” by TIME magazine. 


The Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management Intern will support initiatives within the Group Sales and Programming department. This position will assist with planning, coordinating, and executing motorcoach tours as well as help and coordinate the comedy and entertainment events during the annual Lucille Ball Comedy Festival in August.


This internship will be on-site in Jamestown, NY, for the Summer 2026 season with the potential for extension beyond the summer. 


RESPONSIBILITIES


- Assist the Group Sales & Events Coordinator with motorcoach tours including greeting guests upon arrival, 
meal setup, photo ops, and tour guide support. 
- Support the planning and execution of special venue rental events such as private parties, weddings, and 
reunions.
- Handle departmental administrative tasks such as mailings, newsletters, data entry, and responding to calls
and emails.
- Assist with performances, events, box office operations for the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival.
- Provide hospitality support and logistical support for entertainers.
- Contribute to event-based marketing efforts promoting the National Comedy Center and its initiatives.
- Perform other duties as appropriate and necessary.


REQUIREMENTS


- The ideal candidate is pursuing a career in hospitality, communications, or a related field.
- Basic office skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and time management skills. 
- Experience in planning and executing events of varying sizes with strong attention to detail. 
- Warm, outgoing, and welcoming demeanor.
- Ability to deliver exceptional hospitality to tourism groups, student groups, museum and festival guests and 
performers. 
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds and move in various positions to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to commit to 15-20 hours per week; hours are flexible.
- All interns must complete at least 4 hours each week on the museum floor to learn attraction operations, 
interact with visitors, and increase comedy knowledge.
- Hours may increase to full-time during the week before and the week of the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival in 
August; schedules can be arranged with a supervisor. 
- Interns will use their personal laptops during the internship; alternate arrangements can be discussed upon 
acceptance.
