Overview
The Social Media Strategist helps shape the digital heartbeat of the movement. This role is responsible for building, scheduling, and optimizing cross-platform content that brings the message to life and connects with a real, engaged audience. You will play a key role in the grassroots launch of the book, supporting daily engagement, community growth, and momentum across social channels.
This role blends creative writing, trend awareness, strategic planning, and real-time engagement. You will help ensure the voice, timing, and energy of our content align with both the mission and the platforms where our audience lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, schedule, and manage cross-platform content across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other emerging channels.
- Write clear, compelling, on-brand captions in the John Fairclough voice.
- Identify trends, creators, formats, and cultural moments relevant to the movement.
- Support outreach efforts, including creator discovery and engagement opportunities.
- Help plan and maintain a consistent, strategic content calendar.
- Engage with the audience in real time by monitoring comments, messages, and conversations during key moments.
- Support the grassroots launch team for the book by amplifying content, coordinating posts, and tracking momentum.
- Review performance metrics to evaluate what worked, what didn’t, and why - and apply insights to future content.
Job Qualifications:
- Active experience using TikTok, Instagram Reels, and/or YouTube Shorts.
- Strong understanding of what drives performance on each platform, including pacing, hooks, and formats.
- Ability to write clean, engaging captions that align with a specific brand voice.
- Comfort researching trends, creators, and content patterns.
- Experience helping plan or manage a content calendar.
- Analytical mindset with interest in performance data and optimization.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Preferred
Experience supporting a launch, campaign, or community-driven brand.
Familiarity with social scheduling and analytics tools.
Crossover experience in graphic design, video editing, or marketing operations is a plus.
