Job Description

 

The Director of Corporate Training is responsible for leading EICC's business solutions team, managing employer partnerships, overseeing the administration of the 260E and 260F training programs, and managing the GAP tuition assistance program. This role plays a key part in developing and expanding customized corporate training solutions, ensuring alignment with workforce needs, and maximizing the impact of state-funded training programs.

 

The Director will work closely with businesses, industry leaders, economic development organizations, and internal stakeholders to strengthen EICC's role as a leader in workforce development. This position will oversee the delivery of contract training, manage financial performance, and drive continuous improvement in corporate learning initiatives.

 

Required Qualifications

 

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, workforce development, education, or a related field.

• Experience in sales operations, workforce training, and economic development are required.

• Experience using CRM tools, such as Salesforce.

• Proven leadership experience in managing teams, training programs, and employer partnerships.

• Strong business development, contract negotiation, and employer engagement skills.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.

• Proven experience in successful project management.

• Must be a highly motivated, independent professional who demonstrates initiative, strategic vision, and leadership in achieving organizational objectives.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

Experience with 260E, 260F contracts preferred. Master's degree preferred.

 

Physical Demands

 

• Travel 50% of the time (typically during workday of M-F, business hours), but more frequently as necessitated by prospect/customer needs and work extended hours when necessary

• Sit for long periods of time

• Work on a computer for long periods of time

• May occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where in certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment

 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

 

Leadership of the Business Solutions Team:

 

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the business solutions team, ensuring alignment with institutional and workforce division goals.

• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the corporate training business unit.

• Set performance goals and key metrics to measure training effectiveness and business impact.

• Oversee sales operations and establish sales team metrics for success. Establish sales team workloads and evaluate performance.

 

Oversight & Management of Funding Programs:

 

• Manage the 260 E and F programs. Successful management of these programs includes:

 

• Identify, target, and conduct on-site visits with manufacturers that could benefit from the 260 E and 260 F training funds and building business relationships with them. Respond to requests for information to be provided to site selectors or regional economic development partners.

• Manage required documents between EICC, Iowa Workforce Development, bond counsel, financial advisors, and county auditors to ensure successful completion of training agreements.

• Conduct the financial tracking, in partnership with the business office, and monitoring of all contracts with companies under the 260 E and F programs of the Iowa Code.

• Ensure timely and successful implementation of training plans.

 

• Manage the GAP Tuition Assistance Program.

 

Corporate Training & Business Engagement:

 

• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with businesses, industry leaders, economic development agencies, chambers of commerce, and professional associations.

• Conduct needs assessments with employers to design customized workforce training solutions.

• Expand corporate training offerings in high-demand industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, IT, and business leadership.

• Partner with the Dean of Continuing Education for the development, implementation, and evaluation of contract training programs to ensure high-quality, competency-based learning.

• Work with marketing to drive corporate client engagement and training participation.

 

Financial & Performance Management:

 

• Oversee budget development, financial forecasting, and revenue management for corporate training initiatives.

• Partner with the Dean of Continuing Education and program manager team to establish pricing structures and contract agreements to ensure financial sustainability.

• Track and analyze corporate training enrollment, employer engagement, and ROI to inform decision-making.

• Identify opportunities for additional grants, workforce funding, and industry partnerships.

• Perform other related work duties as assigned.
