Process Improvement Engineer (Entry-Level)
We’re hiring a Process Improvement Engineer to join our operations team in the Atlanta metro area. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates from Georgia Tech, University of Georgia (UGA), Kennesaw State University (KSU), or Georgia State University (GSU) who want hands-on experience applying engineering and analytics concepts to real-world operations.
You’ll work directly in our Sort Cell, the first stage of our IT asset workflow, where devices are evaluated, categorized, and routed. This role blends industrial engineering, data analysis, information systems, and operations leadership—with real ownership from day one.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze operational workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization
- Map current-state and future-state processes to reduce bottlenecks and increase throughput
- Develop, document, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, accuracy, and cycle time
- Build and maintain reports or dashboards using Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI, or similar tools
- Partner with IT, compliance, and downstream operations teams to ensure smooth system handoffs
- Support implementation of new tools, tracking systems, or workflow changes
- Train frontline team members on updated processes and systems
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement concepts in a live operational environment
- Promote safety, quality, and sustainability best practices
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree (or upcoming graduate) in:
- Industrial Engineering (Georgia Tech, KSU)
- Operations Management / Supply Chain (UGA, GSU)
- Information Systems / MIS / CIS (GSU, KSU)
- Business Analytics or Engineering Management
- Or a closely related field
- Strong interest in process improvement, systems thinking, and data-driven decision making
- Comfortable working with data (Excel required; Power BI or SQL exposure is a plus)
- Ability to break down complex processes and explain them clearly
- Willingness to work hands-on in an operations / warehouse environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Internship, co-op, capstone, or project experience in:
- Operations, manufacturing, logistics, or IT systems
- Exposure to:
- Lean Manufacturing
- Six Sigma
- Process mapping (Value Stream Maps, swim lanes, etc.)
- Experience building dashboards or performance reports
- Interest in sustainability, electronics recycling, or circular economy systems
Why This Role Is a Great Fit for Georgia Tech / UGA / KSU / GSU Grads
- Apply classroom concepts (Lean, analytics, systems design) to real production environments
- Gain hands-on experience with operations engineering and IT-enabled workflows
- Own improvement projects—not just observe them
- Work cross-functionally with operations, IT, and compliance teams
- Clear growth path into Senior Engineer, Operations Manager, or Continuous Improvement roles
- Mission-driven work supporting responsible technology reuse and recycling
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive entry-level salary based on experience
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid time off and holidays
- On-the-job training and mentorship
- Opportunities for advancement as the organization grows
