Title: HR Intern

Status: Non-exempt

Salary Range: $16 - $18/hr

Experience: 0 Years

Expected Schedule: Monday & Tuesday / hours can be discussed 

Reports to: HR Generalist 

 

Brief Description:

HR Intern provides administrative support to Human Resource operations and assists with a variety of other support tasks. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and creative design abilities. 

Examples of work/duties:

  • Assists with employment application intake.
  • Assists in HR Department email management, including communication with candidates for recruiting processes.
  • Assists with SCE Intern Program coordination, including regular check-ins and support throughout the program.
  • Maintains applicant tracking entries within Deltek.
  • Assists with preparation and execution of new hire orientation and the overall onboarding process.
  • Assists in new hire photos/retakes.
  • Performs data entry and virtual file maintenance.
  • Supports coordination of SCE Perk Program and other various team building activities, including lunch and office events. 
  • Assists with career fair registration and coordination.
  • Assists in preparation of the PTO / Out of Office Email to the Company.
  • Plans training time for employees in Deltek and adds to Deltek courses as needed.
  • Assist in coordination and execution employee engagement initiatives, including SCE Newsfeed content.
  • Assists in maintaining tracking upcoming and overdue employee license and certification expirations, and complete related registrations as needed.
  • Maintains employee checklists (new hire, title or other changes, and separations)
  • Maintains part time tracking spreadsheet.
  • Sits in on various meetings with HR, and perform other tasks as required.
  • Shadowing a SCE committee, such as Volunteer Committee, would be preferred.

Requirements (education, licensing, certifications, etc.):

  • Possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license.
  • High school diploma required, Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree preferred in related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • 0 years of related experience required, but previous internship a plus.
  • Experience in Canva a plus.
