Sales Consultant

Job Summary:

The sales consultant is responsible for selling and delivering a minimum number of vehicles per month.  They will be responsible for greeting potential buyers, assessing their needs, and providing information on various models, features, and financing options. The responsibilities will include preparing sales contracts, and coordinating with the finance and service departments.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers arriving at the dealership and determines make, type, and quality of vehicle desired
  • Sells new or used vehicles at a profit to the dealership, while ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Showcase the dealership’s vehicles and explain their features and warranties to customers
  • Answer customer questions about cars, financing, and purchase process
  • Explains features and demonstrates operation of vehicle in showroom or on demonstration drive
  • Accompany customers on test drives, collecting licenses and documentation beforehand per best practices
  • Suggests optional equipment for customer to purchase
  • Negotiate car prices and trade-in values for customer vehicles
  • Utilize CRM software to manage customer interactions and sales opportunities
  • Coordinate with the finance department to determine each customer’s financing and ownership options
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of leads and follow up with potential clients
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and product knowledge
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant sales and consumer protection regulations
  • Flexibility in work schedule to include evenings and weekends as needed

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven experience in a sales or customer service role is preferred, but not required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Active listening and empathy to understand customer need
  • Excellent product knowledge and ability to explain complex information clearly
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new sales techniques
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
  • Familiarity with CRM software is a plus
  • Valid Driver License
