The AAPC Foundation Summer Internship Program offers students a full-time, paid, nine-week applied learning experience with a designated AAPC member firm. Interns gain practical skills, professional networks, and insight into how campaigns, data, and technology shape civic engagement—preparing them to become the next generation of leaders in the field.

Targeted Victory is a full-service marketing agency delivering optimized outcomes in the digital age. The firm is composed of fresh-thinking, curious, supportive, and team-oriented professionals. Targeted Victory’s clients—including national political and international decision-makers—rely on its team of top strategists to deliver comprehensive solutions and strategic counsel across public affairs, advertising, media planning, fundraising, and reputation management.

Targeted Victory is seeking students with an interest in public affairs, politics, consumer brands, and social media to join its dynamic team. Interns will gain exposure to leading digital brands and have opportunities to engage with Washington, D.C.-based executives responsible for many of the nation’s most recognizable brands and services. Given the firm’s diverse areas of specialization, team leads tailor assignments to align with interns’ current interests and future career goals. Applicants must be able to work in person at Targeted Victory’s Arlington, VA office.

Responsibilities include:

• Write copy for content across multiple platforms (email, social media, websites, etc.)
• Brainstorm and develop written and visual digital content
• Monitor client campaigns across online advertising, email, SMS, and social media
• Execute daily content across digital platforms, including email and SMS

This position is ideal for candidates who are:

• Interested in digital marketing and have a working knowledge of politics
• Detail-oriented with a strong eye for design
• Able to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels
• Able to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment, with strong time management and organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
