Location: Ames, Iowa, 95% remote

Job Type: Part-time (10-20 hours per week)

ENSOFT has executed multiple high-profile DARPA research projects, as well as aided in clients’ internal research projects. We’re seeking a talented intern to promote our brand by creating engaging digital content as we build our company’s social media presence. 
 

Position Summary:

As a Social Media and Video Editing Intern, you'll play a key role in creating and distributing compelling video content across our social platforms. This is a hands-on opportunity to blend creative storytelling with technical skills, ideal for someone passionate about digital media in a tech environment. This internship is part-time (10-20 hours/week) and can be remote or hybrid, with a duration of 3-6 months starting in early 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit and produce high-quality videos for social media campaigns, product demos, tutorials, and promotional content using tools like Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar software.
  • Manage and grow our presence on platforms such as X, YouTube, and Discord, including content scheduling, audience engagement, and analytics tracking.
  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm ideas that align with our software products, incorporating elements like data visualizations or tech demos.
  • Analyze performance metrics to optimize content strategy and report on engagement trends.
  • Assist in integrating technical aspects, such as embedding code snippets or software simulations into videos where relevant.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven skills in video editing, including experience with editing software, motion graphics, and sound design.
  • Strong understanding of social media best practices, trends, and algorithms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a creative eye for storytelling.
  • Basic proficiency in tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or social media management platforms (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).

Preferred Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Advertising (preferred) or a related field such as Communications, Digital Media, or Graphic Design.
  • Background in math, coding, or software development (e.g., familiarity with Python, JavaScript, or data analysis tools) – a major plus for creating tech-focused content.
  • Previous internship or project experience in digital marketing or content creation.
  • Ability to work independently in an innovative environment.
