Event Assistant Intern
Position Overview
Riverwood Mansion combines excellent personal service with an organized planning process to create memorable event experiences. The Event Operations Intern role offers hands-on exposure to both event coordination and venue operations, making it ideal for students or recent graduates interested in event planning, hospitality, or venue management.
Interns will work closely with the Events and Operations teams to assist with event preparation, execution, and breakdown while helping maintain the flow and functionality of the venue. This role provides a well-rounded understanding of what it takes to successfully host weddings, corporate events, and special celebrations from start to finish.
Learning Opportunities & Responsibilities
Event Support

Assist with the setup, execution, and breakdown of weddings and special events

Support event coordinators by checking layouts, timelines, and event details

Help ensure event spaces are properly prepared and maintained throughout the event

Interact professionally with clients, guests, and vendors to provide a welcoming experience

Assist with on-site vendor coordination during events
Venue & Operations Support

Help set up and break down minimal tables, chairs, and event equipment

Assist with opening and closing the venue for events

Support guest arrival and parking flow

Help maintain cleanliness and organization of event spaces and grounds

Assist with light maintenance and general upkeep as needed
Internship Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance as needed

Schedule

1–2 events per week

Primarily Fridays and weekends

Shifts typically range from 5–10 hours
