Campground Management Intern-Delaware Seashore State Park

Become the face of the Campground as a Campground Management Intern! Over the summer and early Fall, the campground is filled to the brim every day. Interns will work collaboratively with staff, volunteers and Campground Hosts to meet the needs of campers. Interns will gain experience in managing reservations, writing reports, working with volunteers, handling money, and providing customer service. Additional opportunities may include leading volunteer and group activities, assisting with camp store operations and assisting with special events.

Interns will also participate in intern-wide professional development activities and experiential learning opportunities that may require them to be off-site or away from their placement. Each intern will complete a personalized “demonstration of learning” project. At the conclusion of the internship, all interns will present their projects during a poster session for peers and Delaware State Parks staff.

Term                                     Start date on or after April 15th

                                                37.5 hours per week for 24 weeks

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine patrols of the Campground and inspect camp sites
  • Work with Campground Hosts and staff to perform daily check-in/check-out duties 
  • Answer camper questions about rules/policies, the park and local area
  • Assist in working with POS system, handling money and scheduling
  • Help with events and programs that occur in the Campground
  • Perform administrative tasks including scanning, filing, and data entry
  • Will involve working weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Other duties as assigned
